Australia and the South Pacific Ocean

Welcome to the South Pacific

The South Pacific for us consists of Australia’s Whitsunday Islands, New Zealand, Tahiti, Tonga and Fiji.

The magic of sailing these Islands is enchanting and once done will be remembered forever and in some cases repeated again and again.

The beauty of the these islands has caused a number of voyaging cruising yachts to stay around for longer than they planned and leave a year or two later when the another set of cruising yachts comes through.

Australia’s Whitsunday Islands

In Australia’s Whitsunday Islands it is warm and the wind will be about 10 to 25 knots between May and December. There are around seventy islands with of course the marvellous Great Barrier Reef to be explored. It is all short hops and lovely sandy bays to anchor in.

New Zealand

There is great scenic variety in New Zealand with the white sandy beaches in the North Island to the mountains in South Island. Choose your time right and you can Sail in the North Island and Ski in the South Island on the same holiday. The Bay of Islands provides a wealth of cruising opportunities with innumerable inlets along a shelter coastline.

We can provide a variety of itineraries for our Charter’s to explore the islands or just a part of them to suit your holiday length.

Tahiti

For a lot of people paradise starts here. The names of the islands inspire that thinking (Bora Bora, Huahine, Tahaa). There position is half way between Australia and California and serviced by direct flights to the capital of Tahiti Papeete. The trade winds average 10 to 15 knots providing lovely blue water sailing with plenty of safe anchorage’s.

Once again we can provide our charters with itineraries as a staring point but everyone will receive a full briefing which ever way you charter (Bare Boat, Skippered, Fully Crewed or individual berth).

Tonga

The friendly islands as Captain Cook named them. Sailing here in the Vava’u Group of Islands is like being on a very large lake in the middle of the South Pacific. Sailing conditions are excellent with light predictable winds with the water warm and very clear. We think this is one of the places which vies with the Virgin Islands for the title world class.

Getting to Tonga can be via Fiji, Hawaii or New Zealand.

Fiji

Fiji international airport can be reached by frequent flights from Australia New Zealand or Hawaii if you do not fly direct. The islands provide wonderful sailing with steady winds of 15 to 20 knots and an unbelievable tropical backdrop for your Charter.

All the South Pacific Charters can be provided with the Yachts toys but each is individual so please ask as some come in the price and others are extra.
