The Caribbean Islands are a string of islands stretching from Puerto Rico down to the Venezuela coast. They are divided into groups and include the Virgin Islands, the Leeward Islands, and the Windward Islands.

Each island has it’s own beauty and culture formed over the centuries. This with the pace of life will ensure that you have that dream holiday.

Here is a brief description of the island groups and their lovely features be you holidaying on your own charter, skippered Yacht, or a fully crewed Super or Mega Yacht .

When to go February to mid June are the dry months and the high season is December to March for getting some sun.

Miami

The ideal jumping off spot with cheap daily flights to the Caribbean together with those cheap long haul flights from the far away destinations.

This city is famous for it’s 1930’s Art Deco architecture, trendy night clubs and world class beaches.

Virgin Islands

The US and British Virgin Islands are perhaps the best known set of Islands in the Caribbean. Stepped in history of Caribbean Pirating the Virgin islands are an ideal place to begin your charter.

Leeward Islands

Just south of the Virgin Islands lie the The leeward Islands covering a hundred miles and having fourteen reasonable sized islands. The best known ones are Antigua, Anguilla, St Barts, St Maarten/St Martin, Barbuda because they attract less rain as their mountains are smaller producing sunny weather and wonderful beeches.

From our experience it would take at least a month to visit all the islands and they are run by eleven different governments so be sure to allow plenty of time for customs.

Windward Islands

The Windard Islands are so named as it nearly always required a beat to windward to get there in the days of the Tall Trading ships.

Four separate countries are involved in running the windward islands, Martinique is French controlled, the remaining islands are all run under three independent countries St Lucia, St Vincent including the Grenadines and Grenada.

The Grenadines are famous for being the ideal cruising destination containing the Tobago Cays, four small islands in a large sea area well protected by a large horseshoe reef . The Anchorage’s and beeches are wonderful and should not be missed.
