Welcome to the Netherlands

As a boating country, the Netherlands has many possibilities, virtually the whole country being accessible by waterway. The Dutch are keen sailors, and spend a lot of time on the water, in classic gaff-rigged craft, and more high-tech yachts. Motor boats and yachts, classic and modern are available for charter.

Nearly all of the sailing in the Netherlands goes on in inland stretches of water, especially the IJsselmeer. Even on these inner areas the weather can still be challenging from time to time. Fishing is popular, and usually a licence is required.

The season begins at Easter and lasts till Autumn, when the waters of Holland are at their loveliest.
